Will your business take part in Pigtown 2018?

Open call for participation in the Pigtown Culture & Food Series 2018 taking place in the autumn – kicking off at the start of September and running throughout the month and beyond.

This autumn, the Pigtown Culture & Food Series is back for its second year in a harvest celebration of Limerick’s food culture. 2018 is European Year of Cultural Heritage and the series is inspired by the history of Limerick’s famous bacon industry in an exciting programme of themed events kicking off in September 2018 in Limerick city and county.

Developed by the Limerick Food Group and supported by Limerick City and County Council, the series celebrates Limerick’s unique heritage as a way to showcase the great food and drink available locally, building on our deep-rooted food heritage.

Last year saw market events, food demos, historical walks, themed events and exhibitions, food tours, panel discussions, restaurant nights with special themed menus, industry networking events, and not forgetting the Culture Night Pig Parade.

A lot of that will be returning this year and local businesses are invited to join the festival programme by adopting the Pigtown theme in September – whether it’s restaurant specials for the duration, or one off themed menu nights, movie nights, or other creative ways to embrace our pig history, organisers are open to all ideas and are looking for the support of Limerick business to get as many people as possible involved in the celebration.

The Pigtown Culture & Food Series kicks off at the start of September across Limerick. For further details visit www.pigtown.ie or search #PigtownLimerick or ‘Pigtown Food Series’ on social media. Contact limkfoodgroup@gmail.com to get involved.
